The Manufacturing

The manufacturing, following the process briefly summarized here and as from procedures of own System of Management for Quality optimized during these years, it allow to our TANNERY (or SOLE LEATHER TANNERY) NUOVA TOSCANA 2000, to obtain SLAUGHTER LEATHER FOR SOLES - LEVEL SLAUGHTER - of high qualitative standard and very indicated for the most exacting of LADY' S, MAN AND CHILD FOOTWEARS IN SOLE LEATHER.

The whole cycle of working of our SOLE LEATHER TANNERY lasts 2 months about, normally the production start with the cut of the best adults cows raw hides coming from selected French and European slaughters house. So, only the part of the BUTT of the cow is put into the "drums" where, with water and natural products, the butt is depilated and degreasing, getting so suitable to be put in the "tannins vats". In these vats the BUTTS remain immerse, in a solution of water and tannin for about one month.
Closed this stage the leather is put in the "drums of tannage" where, following the instructions of ancient recipes, the leather butt remain dipped in water and natural product for a few days, rotating without interruptions day and night.

Finished also this phase the SOLE LEATHER BUTT is divided in two HALF SOLE LEATHER BUTTS and let environment rest to temperature. Moreover, after others workings and after level for thickness, the SOLE LEATHER BUTTS so obtain are put in the "drums for retannage " where rotating with natural oils, they reach the prearranged refinish temperature. Finally the LEATHER BUTTS are hung up in proper cells where temperature and dampness are constantly monitored with specific equipment which consent, in some days, to obtain a gradual dryness with softness without violence. The HALF SOLE LEATHER BUTT is ready to be put in the finished warehouse, where it could be treated with a watery solution or with natural wax, according to the customer's requests; at last the BUTT is rolled, trimmed to hand and selected.
